DV 2025 AOS (Adjustment of Status) Process Only

Hi Mom,
I rescheduled my biometrics and downloaded the ASC Appointment Notice from my USCIS account. It has the date, time, address, and barcode, but it does not say Form I-797C on top. Is this the correct notice to bring to the appointment? (I have not yet received any paper in the mail)
I've attached a screenshot here, just want to confirm before I go.
Thanks!

Hi Mom,

I requested an access to edit the tracker. Meanwhile, could you pelase advise how long do you think it would make sense for me to wait for their response? Thank you!
Access granted. I’ll recommend waiting until around the 2nd week of August.

Yes it is.

p.s. be sure to add your case to the Timeline spreadsheet, if it isn’t already there.

Hi Mom,
I decided to file again. 1) For the financial support, can I put the previous bank statement? 2) My current bank statement has been reduced since then, but we have my wife's pay stubs as well. Do I also need to have the Form I-134?

1. Most recent bank statements recommended.
2. Including an I-134, if you can, is never a bad idea.

I believe it's been triggered by the url shorteners in Timelines (DV21 using rb.gy specifically, if you hover over it it also shows the error). I'd start with converting that one in particular, but having explicit links for all of them would be a good idea too.
Thanks for the catch and the suggestion which has been implemented - the url shorteners have been replaced with the actual (overly-long) url links. The file is still flagged though.

Hello,
I just wanna confirm that I should send my AOS package to Chicago Lockbox when my FO is Charleston, SC, correct?
From your experiences, in which case that the interview was waived?

Hello,

These are a few pictures of how I assemble my package. I just wanted to share the pic of the files in case it might be an example who are planning to prepare their packages too. I tried to add all the documents that they would want to see. I separated 8 paper bag as different 8 categories.
1. I-485 application
2. Evidence of DV eligibility (1NL, 2NL, DV fees, Cover Letter)
3. IDs (My Ids like passports, SSN, Driver licenses, EADs, Birth certificates, )
4. Proof of maintaining valid status while in the US (documents regarding with F1, I-94, enrollment verifications, I20s, acceptance letters )
5. TPS and Asylum Status (All notices letter from USCIS)
6. Evidence of Degree Records (My Two Associate Degrees from community college, High school Records)
7. Evidence of Financial Support (My W2s, Tax return transcripts, Bank Statements) for 2022, 2023, 2024
8. I-134 (application, his W2, Employment verification letter, driver license, and US citizenship certification)

Even though I separated with 8 paper bags, the officer combined all together and put it in the large file.
My interview took on July 22, 2025 8:05am at SF. I arrived early at 7 am and I was able to enter. First, I need to check in at reception counter. Around 8:03 am, the officer came and call my name. He was nice and chill, He even told me the every direction on the way to get to his office while we are going together.
First, He said Congratulation first and he told me he already reviewed everything that I submitted. He said I submitted more documents than he needs to review and how will the interview go. Before we started he mentioned that I applied asylum and he asked have I already got the interview for asylum and he just wanted to make sure there were no two interview for green card. Then he fixed my date of birth error on his computer and then he went a little bit overview for my i-485. My name, full address, date of birth, My parents name, current school, major, year and went some Yes or No questions.
After finished reviewing i-485, he asked some questions and wrote down on the paper about my timeline of status. When did I enter the US? Was it with F1? Was it the first time entering to the US? And then go to my community college? After that transfer to my university? Are you currently working?
That's all he asked. After that he said he is ready to approve my green card but there was one background check pending and we ended our interview.
On July 24, 2025, my USCIS account was updated to "New card is being produced" and today, July 25 2025, "Case was approved".

Thank you so much everyone who answered my questions and helped me everything went through smoothly.
Thank you so much for sharing the details with us! This is very helpful.
I wonder why do you have to include I-134 when you are working? How much salary should we have in order to not use I-134?

1. Your Lockbox location is not determined by your FO. Your Lockbox location is based on your place of residence. Take a look at the "Lockbox Location" tab of the AOS Process Spreadsheet to confirm your Lockbox location.
2. Some FO's waive the interview, most do not. Take a look at both the current and past timeline spreadsheets to see the FOs that tend to waive.

Hi Mom,
I would appreciate it if you could give me an advice.
Before going to the refile process, I would like to know that my financial support is sufficient, and will not consequently bring me another denial. My wife has a annual wage of 28000, and our bank statement is about 8000. We are a family of 2. I don't have the sponsor option. Previously the officer did not ask for more support, but that 3 month ago my bank statement was about 16000. Is this a high risk of another denial?

I’m sorry I cannot make the call as to if your financial evidence will be deemed enough or it. The IO will look at what is known as the totality of the circumstances in making the call.

I'll also note this as a cautionary tale for other people considering early filing. Doing it on the day your VB is released makes a lot of sense. You gain 6-7 weeks of processing time. Sometimes that makes a difference. On the other hand, filing it 48h before you actually become current, doesn't gain you anything. There's probably a point in between "almost two months" and "almost two days" where advantages of early filing diminish over the potential threat of being wrongfully rejected/denied.
This is outstanding advice. Haven't seen it articulated like this before. I hope this can be added to the FAQs to help future DV AOSers understand how this works.

Also, applicants with very low CNs (who have the luxury of time before FY ends) should probably think about the risk/benefits of early filing differently than applicants with higher CNs (who are pressing against the FY deadline). For example, if my CN becomes current in December, I wouldn't bother with the hassle and risk of early filing. On the other hand, if my CN becomes current in September, the risk/benefit of early filing profile changes (in that case, file ASAP after the VB release date so there is time to do something about a wrongful rejection/denial). My 2 cents...

I am a student who is not working currently. I need something to proof that I would not become public charge after getting gc. I used to work and I have W2, Tax, pay slips, Tax return, all for three years. but Mom and others suggest to put i-134 since I am not currently working.
I think there is no minimum amount that you should have. As long as your salary can cover all of you & your dependent, it should be fine. I guess.
But better to have I-134 sponsor if you can find one and attach together with your own W2, pay slips, Tax return. I also submitted all of my W2, tax transcripts, Bank statements (Both credit cards, and saving acc for the past 6 months), Hope this help your question.

You should ask and confirm with Mom or other specialist for your question.
1. How much salary should we have in order to not use I-134?

thank you! the spreadsheet updated :)
I just took a look at the spreadsheet and noticed your CN is current in Aug, so scratch what I said earlier about waiting until the 2nd week in Aug. Since your CN is current in Aug, it makes sense to not have had any update up till now, as your case cannot be adjudicated before the first day of the month in which you’re current, regardless of when you filed or completed your bio. I recommend waiting until the end of August as a matter of fact based on this new knowledge.
