DV 2025 AOS (Adjustment of Status) Process Only

Sometimes it takes a week for others it takes a month… I believe you’re still within normal range. Check the spreadsheet to get an idea how long it can take for your lockbox.

Hi Mom,

I sent my AOS package to Chicago 17 days ago. I didn't receive anything yet and I filled out the form to receive email and text. Should I be concerned about it or it is normal? My current number is in June.

Thank you so much.
Just for update, I received NOA letter today. I can't update the time sheet.

Hi All,

Not sure how it is possible I only found about this forum recently. I have been selected for the 2025 DV with a very low number in EU (4000ish) and filed for joint AOS (together with my wife who is currently on H1B and I am on H4) back in November 2024 (took me a little before I got the doctor to sign off on all my vaccinations...).

We have done our biometrics early December 2024 (USCIS only recorded them 26th Dec) and there have been only silence since... Is this normal it is taking this long? My case is at the MSC with Receipt Block of MSC-259-011 and I am terrified to see fewer and fewer cases being approved daily with so many (like 40%) still in the Fingerprints Taken status. Of course I realize these are all I-485 cases received and DV cases are (at least in theory) treated differently.

Would you have any tips or ideas on how to approach this? I am afraid my case has been forgotten or the backlog is so huge they won't process it by September or they will run out of the quota before my case is adjudicated. Any help is welcome!

P.S. I have not put my case into the spreadsheet but am happy to do so, can admin unlock it for me?

It could be normal depending on your assigned FO, if it happens to be one of those that tends to batch DV based AOS applications, or could be due to pending background check clearance for you or your spouse. Your case is not at the MSC (even if your receipt number starts with MSC). It is already at your applicable FO. So you need to first figure out which FO has jurisdiction over your application through the Field Office Locator tool - by typing in your zip code. Then take a look at the 2025 Timeline spreadsheet (link in my signature or from the first post on page one of this thread), and a couple of previous timeline spreadsheets to get an idea of the average processing time for your FO.

Hello everyone.

My CN is EU23k, and I think it will not be current in July as well, so I will be waiting for the July VB to see the CN in August.

I think I cannot wait until August to send my AOS package, it will be to late. I will 99% do an early filing. I have two questions:

1) I am in Texas, and I will send my documents to Lewisville TX Lockbox (I don't know if they're all called as Dallas, and if Dallas&Lewisville have different process). When I check the FO for my zip code, it shows Oklahoma. Do you know if the Lockbox in Lewisville or FO in Oklahoma accept early filings without any issue? I know it's my discretion but still I need some info about the Lockbox and FO.

2) Let's say my CN becomes current for July and I early filed in May. Lockbox receives my package, accepts with no problem. Will they schedule my biometrics for July, or whenever possible? Also, if my interview is waived at that stage, should I expect such waiver in July the earliest, or is there a chance to get my GC before July? Lastly, if they decide to interview me, will it be in or after July?

Thanks!

1. Take a look at some of the previous Timeline spreadsheets.
2. The NBC strives to schedule the bio appointment as soon as possible following AOS package acceptance by the Lockbox. Take a look at the current and past timeline spreadsheets to get an idea of the average processing time of DV based AOS applications by your FO.

Hey everyone, interview notice just came in.

Is this anything else besides standard wording?

They can’t issue a green card before the month in which you’re current. It would be very unusual to interview before as they can’t issue. whether in July or later depends on the FO.

Hello Mom,
I had TPS and I have not informed about TPS to my school yet. I am thinking to apply with F1 on i485 but I will also list TPS in my package.
1. DO i need to inform to school about TPS even tho i would not use TPS status as a main one?
2. DO i need to get new I-94. with TPS from USCIS website? I saw i 94 record on my approval letter.
3. My case is current for June. Should I send in May as an early filing? I am afraid I will get denied because of early filing. DO you guys recommend doing it?

1. There’s no requirement to inform your school.
2. You already got the USCIS issued I-94 with your approval notice.
3. That’s a decision you’ll need to make on your own.

Hello,

The interview notice mentions form I-693. Do we need an updated I-693 or vaccination supplement?

We had vaccinations with „insufficient time interval“ ticked on the I-693 submitted with the I-485 and completed the series in the meantime.

Doesn’t the notice say “if required … (unless already submitted)”?

Hello. My question is on Maintaining Status. I am a selectee of DV25, and during the tax filing session, I received a tax form from my University that is a 1099. I reached out to DSO to ask why, and I was told the work which was listed as on campus was not and the Organization which was a partner with the school since they even used my university email, did onboarding on the school BlackBoard (website for my courses, grades, and onboarding for on-campus jobs), was off-campus even though many F1 students are affected by this. All my colleagues who were F1 students were not informed about this, even though the hiring was done on my university's official website, and even the 1099 was from the university's address. I only worked for 5 months, then I left. The DSO told me she doesn't understand how that happened, but it seemed there was miscommunication since the job organization went Private, but they did not realize to inform the F1 students to leave the job or work on CPT. Will this affect my AOS? How can I approach this? Thank you so much for your feedback!

I have no idea as to the potential implication to your AOS process. The only way to approach the situation, IMHO, is to truthfully answer whatever question gets asked about it. Outside of that, try and see if you can get your DSO to document the miscommunication in writing for your records keeping, this enables you to have something to present should it become an issue during your adjudication process.

Isn't it considered unauthorized employment?

I think on campus jobs are hired through school websites as in the case above. The person also said the school did the onboarding for the role. The school should communicate if a job needs a CPT when they are hiring to avoid such confusion. Just saying.
