Since your lawyer could not help, how about taking an InfoPass apptmt at the same USCIS office where you did the passport stamping and and ask them how to correct it.
IMHO few weeks should be OK, just make sure you are not travelling outside the country, without stamping after approval.
If you just got the approval email or online status change, then you will get a few weeks before the actual approval letter comes by mail, then it will take few more...

If I remember correctly, its near the Washington exit from 280. You will get the
exact address when you take the InfoPass appointment. Or you can go to USCIS
website and search for SanJose office address. It was not the address where
I went for my FP.

I got stamped on the same date at SJO, no card yet and no updates (CO/CM) on the case status site.
Looks like people who stamped at SFO around the same date have already got the card.
I had asked the same question to my lawyer, and my lawyer told me specifically *not* to travel *after* approval *without* stamping, saying it could create issues at port of entry and said its not worth taking the risk. ( maybe its considered as abandoning of the AOS ? )

Hi Wait4, Take the I-94 from the last port of entry, and the I-94 from the *latest* valid H1B1 or H4 approval notice. ( teared out from the bottom right of the approval notice ).

My approval notice said ADIT, but the lawyer asked me to take regular photos as specified by uscis :

I did the stamping at San Jose last week, and yes you need "regualr photos"
not the ADIT style photos.
The approval notice says ADIT style, but the letter from my lawyer highlighted the new photo requirements from USCIS.
