I'd say skip the stamping. You have a valid visa to enter back into the US - just use that. I would highly recommend filing and getting an AP for all future travels if you can. The H1 visa revalidation is becoming a BIG MESS and one must avoid is as much as they, especially in India
Aravind: First thing you need to do is STOP worrying and next right after that is to embrace {PATIENCE}. It seems to be a pattern at New Delhi consulate. I was put under 221g on Jan 7th and am still waiting to hear back.
Since you are referring to the Officer as "her" I believe this is the...
I have written about this earlier as well. Be advised that there is a new process in place that requires Consulates to verify the validity and authenticity of the I797... it is being referred to as "Additional Administrative Processing". Should you get stuck in this, which I am currently, you...
very interesting comments indeed. All I would like to humbly add is that - the US has a choice and they are exercising it via the current process of immigration, or lack thereof. Everyone living in the US and wanting a life in the US has made a choice. When you make a choice, there are...
Be extremely careful in making this decision. Although I wish you a speedy and happy everything, there is a downside to the option of choosing stamping over AP - the newly formed rules that require "additional processing" may see you spending a lot more additional time (no guarantees on how...

Although I am confident that any one person's case is not going to provide any rationale in terms of another person's situation...
Relax folks. This process will take its due course. For the time being, be happy for others whose spouses can now work once they have EADs etc.
I say, "Don't Worry, Be Happy!" One day, some day, we all shall get our GCs... 'til then, enjoy life!
