Another successful CP interview in Sydney, Australia (long)

Received Arrival Notification about 2 weeks ago, and 1 week after, both our Green Cards. This has been the smoothest dealing with DHS/INS that I have EVER had.

Leaving for 2years and reenter after

You shouldn't leave UNTIL the I-131 is approved. So go to the US during summer break. If that doesn't work, see if you can transfer to a Univeristy that will give you credit for what you have done. I highly do not recommend borrowing money from a private institution for tuition.

    available???

I believe that towards the end of when the visas have almost all been issued, you do run a risk of them running out of visas. Otherwise, they would only be issuing 1 interview at a time...

    Sos!

Not necessarily. Think about other critical documents/items that have ID numbers that are only used once - currency; passports; driver's licenses; car VINs etc. If you lose any of those, you may be issued with a new or replacement item, but they will have new serial numbers. I was...

    Sos!

From what I understand, their friend successfully won DV2007, received their Visa, and then lost their passport containing the US visa, before entry into the USA. Since all the visas for DV2007 had been issued, and there is no replacement for lost visas (they just issue new ones), then their...

Big dilema! Won GC 2008, but my girlfriend has not! Which possibilities do we have?

Here's a question probably worth pondering, what if things had been reversed, she had won, and you hadn't. What would she have done?

Big dilema! Won GC 2008, but my girlfriend has not! Which possibilities do we have?

Congratulations! I don't think so. I was on a J-1 with a University, and immediately took a research position with that University. They switched me to an F-1 visa immediately. She should try and find a position with the University. Alternatively, a US company could sponsor an H1-B for...

Is there anything I can do while ' Waiting to Win ' ?

Treat it for what it is - a lottery. Its like saying, do you put a deposit on a dream house or car, in anticipation of winning a monetary lottery? No you don't. Just live your life as it is, assuming you won't win the lottery. Then if you do, see what options like there for you. Unlike...

Can I bring my Nintendo to the interview

Probably not - how about taking some books? Also the Sydney consulate has a kids play area.

Another successful CP interview in Sydney, Australia (long)

Thanks Actually, there is much more to my story, but most of it has been covered by others. I tried to just focus on things that will help others that have been less mentioned by others. Things like getting free blood titers in the US, taking magazines to the consulate, requiring legal...

what would you do if you were me

In your shoes, I would go on the E3 now, and have your employer pay for the costs of the CP - instead of the green card via E3. Make it part of your employment contract. I did all my paperwork requests from the USA - no problems. Mail and email are international.
