they mailed the decision to me. Yes you are right usually they ask you to come back in two weeks to pick up the decision. But in my case, I was actually in legal status when I applied for asylum so they thought it's ok to make me wait longer.

You can have multiple immigration applications pending at the same time. One doesn't necessarily disqualify the other. But why would you apply for asylum when you have a family green card pending? you should know that it currently takes at least a year (often times years) to get the asylum...

Agree with above. Somehow this year the date for filing is still stuck in Apr 2016 for F2A as opposed to Nov 2015 the same time last year.

The line for family green card is hardly moving at all. Final action for F2A has been stuck in September 2015 for quite some time. Do we expect any movement for October (new USCIS fiscal year)? will they final switch back to "dates for filing" from "final action"?

yeah the first one is usually slow. it took ~6.5 months for me.

when you said "sorta took the cannot work without ins authorization" off of the social security card, what do you mean exactly? Altering/falsifying a federal document is very serious. I would consult a lawyer to see if this counts as a criminal offense, just to be on the cautious side. From...
