I did it one Summer for a small company when I was undergrad. I filed no paperwork for that (not even an employee application form).
I guess it depends on the company, whether they are willing to have an "undocumented" employee. For me I could put that job on the resume and use them as my...
Has anyone applied for visa stamp (re-entry permit) in the U.S. Consulate in Munich, Germany?
My H-1B visa stamp expired but I may need to travel to Munich in a month, which is not enough time to apply via St. Louis.
Thanks!
Hi,
Since the Special Registration law for a list of about 23 countries, has anyone from these countries had their I-485 approved?
I'm curious as to whether there is a delay in the process because of this.
Thanks!

finger-printing notice can count as receipt?
Well I filed my I-485 on 4/1/03 and received an appointment notice for finger-printing last week or so. I guess that can count as a receipt?
same day process for HK residents
Found out that an H-1 visa stamp can be given within a day for HK residents - apply in the morning, receive it in the afternoon.
Foreigners are discouraged from applying at the HK US consulate.
my H-1B extension got approved at VSC
I was waiting for my H-1B extension to approve and couldn't wait anymore, so the company filed for premium processing for me. I don't see why it can increase the chance of denial. For sure they'll let you know in 15 calendar days whether they need more...
Has anyone gotten an H-1B visa stamp (reentry permit) from the U.S. Consulate in Hong Kong? How long did it take?
It used to take 1-2 days but I'm not sure about now, after 9/11.
Thanks.
Takes longer to mail than to approve
Finally the lawyer's office received my new H-1B notice today. So in total it took:
7 days to approve
+ 11 days to mail
+ 1 day from lawyer's office to me

19 days to get H-1B extension via Premium processing...
My case was originally normal processing:

One risk is, what if the I-485 is approved before the wedding?
My friend's I-485 (also from California) approved unexpectedly in 5 months so his fiancee missed the chance to be added to his GC approval. Now they have to wait 3+ years for him to file for her GC...

1) Even though you were out of the country, they can check your previous records to know if you\'re lying. Don\'t take any chances. Misrepresenting your information can lead to deportation.
2) I\'ve checked yes a couple of times and got my passport revalidated...
