DV 2026 AOS (Adjustment of Status) Process Only

This unfortunately means adjudication of pending DV based AOS applications are on “pause” - basically saying prolonged AP - currently unknown as to long this will be. Also not sure if new DV based AOS application will be accepted by the Lockbox. A similar pause re CP could be made by the USDOS in the next couple of days/weeks.

But cases are allowed to be processed up to the final adjudication, when the pause takes effect as stated in the policy memorandum.

Meaning we can move forward with filing and submitting everything for now and wait for updates on this matter.

The policy memo references “pending” cases hence my comment about not knowing if the Lockbox will be accepting new applications on not. I guess there’s only one way to find out though.

DV2025 winner here.

I got my green card in august. Planning to travel in january. I work full time and my duration of travel is 5 weeks.


1. Are there any risks in travelling in these times as a LPR?

2. Any documents i should carry with me?

IMO, there’s always a risk under this current administration considering the anti immigration stance, especially towards certain populations, which has been adopted.

You have a better insight into your entire immigration history than I do, so you’ll have to make the call on your own.
 
Hi Mom @Sm1smom ,

There are many greencard holders who received their cards through AOS with B1/B2 visas (touristic visas) in recent years. Do you think they may get affected by this recent memo, cause footnote 6 kinda mentions about that….

Footnote 6

"6 If risks related to national security, public safety, or fraud are determined for a specific population, a re-review of approved benefit requests for that population may be required."

I do not see any where in the footnote you quoted where it says, either directly or indirectly, those who processed the DV selection from B1/B2 status will or could be subject to a review of their AOS approval.

Any prior approval that meets the applicable thresholds could be subject to a review regardless of the status AOS was filed from.
 
Hi everyone, I’m looking for some insight from others who may be in a similar situation.
I’m currently in the U.S. on an F-1 visa and applied for Adjustment of Status (I-485) under DV 2026. I had my AOS interview on December 15 2025, and the interview went very well. The officer said everything looked good, mentioned that he was approving my case, and told me I should receive my green card within about 3 weeks. However, a few days after my interview, the news came out about the DV pause. Since then, I’ve been worried and confused.
My questions are:
• If the officer already said he is approving my case, does the DV pause still apply to me?
• Or would my case be considered “safe” since the approval decision was already made verbally?My online case status hasn’t changed yet, so I’m not sure how to interpret this situation.
I’d really appreciate hearing from anyone who has experience with DV pauses, AOS timing, or similar cases.

Did you mean the USCIS portal? Well the portal has always been slow for me. The latest update it shows is that fingerprint was taken. But I have received the interview notice and appeared the interview already. It never even updated any letters on the portal.

I had the same situation as yours. Status online never changed for 11 days and displayed: Fingerprint was taken. After 11 days, the status changed. Now I am not sure how things are going to proceed with the new regulations though. I would suggest you to talk to a lawyer, but I am not even sure lawyers know what to do as there are no further information either. Let's hope for the best and things get fixed for everybody.

in 2023, I had an interview and it went well. I went out and bad news arrived, quota was full so they stopped rest of the applications. My USCIS situation never changed till this day, still it says my fingerprints received. I have received the deny letter next week. Some people I know didn’t even receive a letter. I don’t wanna discourage you but if your card hasn’t been printed, they may let your application stay in hold situation until the end of the year and then you may lose your chance. Try to call USCIS and reach tier2 and maybe a lawyer but I am not sure anybody knows anything about this. They have a system that allocate from quota after the interview, if your interviewer did it right after you have that allocation so it’s a good news. If you can reach that person, he/she can check and give you an information. Hope, you can resolve this soon.

Unfortunately a verbal approval with no further action means nothing. If only your IO had immediately followed up by logging into IVANSWEB to assign a visa to your case which would have triggered off the CPO and other online status updates. At this point, the DV pause will be applicable to your case IMO.
 
Hi Mom,

I have been watching your tweets and videos too regarding the recent pause on DV. I know this is a silly question, but I just got my biometrics letter for Feb 2, I am bit confused about what I should do ?
Would they take the biometrics or should I reschedule so that I don't miss the biometrics date for AOS ? Can you suggest me some good choice that you're aware of in the current context ?
