I am currently in status. So, they are supposed to send a NOID if their intention was to deny the case.

Oh okay that’s weird, but since it’s Sunday you might not get fees were waived not yet but you will for sure know tmrw.

Hi , I was just wondering if the asylum decision takes a really long time. Can it still end up being a denial, or does waiting this long usually mean Aproval

Is it typical that they can denial an asylum claim by someone in status without actually sending a NOID? The asylum officer told me I either get an approval or NOID during my interview. A final denial is given after a NOID rebuttal. So, I'm very confused on why my case is closed. There is still no document in my tab, 2 days after receiving the “decision was mailed” notice.

Also, I recently changed addresses. Requested for an address change on my USCIS account about 2 weeks before the decision was mailed. My address change request still shows “submitted”. I am very concerned that the decision was mailed to my previous address and would probably be returned to USCIS. Is there a way I can go to UPS or USPS office to retrieve the decision letter?

They do usually send pdf file, maybe your case might be transferred to another office or I don’t know this is a very unique situation

Thank you for your responses. You typically cannot call the Houston asylum office. You get an automated response when you do. I think I will go there in person on Thursday.

Hope for good, But I was also in status and applied asylum like your, After decision was mailed i got NOID. You can reply within 16 days if you want. Check my old conversation if you want.
