DV 2025 AOS (Adjustment of Status) Process Only

I have a question about cutoff numbers. If my number is included in the cutoff, should I wait until the first of next month to submit or I can submit now? My FO is Texas
If your CN is under the cutoff range for the month of August in the VB, you may go ahead and file for AOS now by taking advantage of the early filing option; or you can wait until August 1st to file. It really is your decision. You should go through the FAQ tab of the AOS process spreadsheet for more information about early filing.

I bank with a credit union that doesn't have a physical branch. So I got a cashier's check over the phone. I asked about being able to write the memo on the check and they said there would be a section where I can write it. However, the check arrived yesterday and it doesn't seem like there is a section. I didn't really want to write on the check. Instead I wrote on the receipt(?) that is attached to the check with a perforated line. This receipt also is the only place where my name is listed (right at the top, next to an account number, both of which are redacted for privacy purposes). Attached is the USCIS does have instructions for personal checks, but they don't have any guidance on cashier's checks. In your opinion do I have any reason to be concerned? (I'm sending I-485 only and I don't have any derivatives. When I send the AOS package, I plan to put the check in an envelope along with the two passport photos).

Hi Sm1smom,

I hope you can provide some guidance on my case. My case number is 2025EU00009XXX. Currently, I am residing in the US under Humanitarian Parole (Ukraine status). My case was current as of last November.

I submitted my paperwork to the USCIS Elgin lockbox on March 10, 2025. On March 14, I received a notification confirming the receipt of my documents, and on March 21, I was notified that my biometric appointment was waived. Since then, I have not received any further updates, and I am still waiting for an interview notification.

I've tried reaching out to USCIS through calls and chats, but they simply tell me to wait and don't address the fact that I should have an interview scheduled before the end of September. This situation is causing me a lot of confusion and uncertainty.

Should I be worried? Is there anything I can do to move this forward? Would hiring an immigration lawyer help in my situation?

I’d appreciate any advice or insights.

Thank you!

Cashiers check do not come with a Memo line AFAIK, what you got is what a typical cashiers check looks like. The attached receipt is for your personal records, it is not meant to be submitted with the AOS package.

Adjudication of AOS applications from applicants with HP status was paused for a while, it however seems like USCIS has resumed adjudication of those applications. You can reach out to your congressman/woman to request their assistance with following up with USCIS and obtaining a case update on your behalf.

Take a look at the FAQ tab of the AOS process spreadsheet for more information on how to initiate a congressional case inquiry.

1. Am I required to submit transcripts from every U.S. university I previously attended? It has been over five years since I last enrolled, and while I’m including my diplomas, I wasn’t sure if academic transcripts are also necessary in this case.
2. My high school diploma includes both my native language and English, so I didn’t have it translated. However, I noticed the official stamp appears only in my native language on both versions. Should I have the stamp translated as well? In the US, this detail might not be heavily scrutinized, but I know some countries tend to be quite meticulous about such things. I’ve been advised to consider submitting a certificate of accuracy from a certified translator to ensure compliance. Would you recommend this?
3. Lastly, I had a non-immigrant visa application denied in the past due to concerns about demonstrating strong ties to my home country. Could this have any bearing on my application? Are there any challenges or issues you’ve seen in similar cases in the past? Thanks

1. Transcripts not required.
2. Get the diploma fully translated.
3. No bearing.

The USCIS website still lists the I-485 filing fee as $1,440. However, based on the recent bill passed by Congress, the Adjustment of Status fee appears to have increased to $1,500. Should we proceed with the fee listed on the website for now?

The correct fee is whatever is currently listed on USCIS’s website as at when you file.

Hey everyone,

I sent in my AOS package and it was delivered on July 1st, so it’s been about 10 days now. I still haven’t gotten any acceptance text/email from USCIS. I know some people don’t get those, but I also called my bank and my cashier’s check still hasn’t been cashed, which has me a bit worried.

I’ve seen a few others on the sheet who mailed their packets to the Elgin Lockbox after me and have already gotten receipt notices. Could it mean mine was rejected or something went wrong? Or does USCIS just not go strictly in order of when things were delivered?

I know it’s still kind of early and I shouldn’t stress, but with the fiscal year ending soon, it’s hard not to. Would really appreciate any insights.

Processing speed depends on the workload of the processing agent the package was assigned to upon delivery.

Hello everyone, this week my and my spouse (primary applicant) cases were changed to "Ready to be scheduled for an interview" and today my spouse's status changed to "Interview was scheduled", however my case status remains untouched.
Is it smth typical for DV lottery AOS and are we expected to come together for an interview?

my case is DV2025AF1*****0 with MSC reciept, i lodged my case 90days ago , when i realise its not moving i inquired, later i got a call that my case is not moving because its a 5 members case and only one and that is me who have paid since iam doing AOS , my FTG are based outside of the USA, So i cant pay for them according to guidelines from KCC , Kindly, i need advice like yesterday. by the way in my aos and kcc payment i attached my instuctions on FTG. kindly note i will post it on the thread ones the FTG hundle is over

Don’t pay too much attention to the status updates (unless of course if it is CPO). It is not unusual for the main selectee to receive the IL, while none gets sent to the derivative. Plan on attending the interview together with your spouse if they receive their IL and you don’t.

1. Who called you?
2. When did they call you?
3. What did you say to them?
4. What was their response/ what did they subsequently say?

Your answers to the above questions as asked will help determine what your next course of action could be.

Also, add your case details to the timeline spreadsheet to enable us better understand and guide you as applicable.

USCIS agent called me after my inquiry of why it has taken so long,
Same day i inquired on 9th July 3 pm
He said he can't schedule my interview because my case has 3 members, and I have paid the DV processing fee for myself only
i advised him i paid for myself only since i was the only one doing DV AOS and others are FTJ abroad.
i told him on my Dv fee payment cover letter and the AOS package, i attached the notification letter on the FTG listing their names that they will process at the embassy abroad in Africa
He told me to wait he will call back.
when he called back, he told me to pay. i asked him how am gonna pay without the FTG not going to the embassy. He told me I pay for others the same way i paid for my dv fees to DOS. They will see it in the system, and he hung up the call.

So I decided to inquire here since the funds are non-refundable

Okay, the IO adjudicating your AOS application from your FO called you. Unfortunately it sounds like you’ll have to make the payment for the rest of your family before he will adjudicate your application. You already did everything you needed to do correctly, I don’t see any other solution outside of making the payment.

A couple of past selectees in similar situation such as yours have reported a similar experience in the past, and they ended up making the payment as requested. Yes the payment is non-refundable and there’s no guarantee the embassy will accept the payment receipt from your family members (in lieu of the actual payment) when the time comes for them to attend their FTJ interview (if they make it to that stage).

Best of luck and keep us updated as to the eventual outcome.

Hello? tried to add the case but the thread is locked
You need to send an access request from the spreadsheet in order to update it.

I submitted my case nearly five months ago in February and completed biometrics shortly after, but have received no updates since.
When I called USCIS, I was told the expected processing will not be done by September and they have never heard of this and I was told this by a few agents. I explained the deadline and one agent suggested submitting an expedite request in May, which I did but it has not been acted on until now.
I then contacted my congressperson in June to bring the deadline to their attention. They were told my case was in queue for processing. A follow-up last month received the same exact response.
For context, I’m in valid F-1 status, and my number became current in April.
Could you advise on any next steps I can take?
