I read this topic from July 2024, and it gives me hope.
Thank you for everyone who shared their story and timeline.
Did they ask to close the spouse case? I'm wondering what's the reason for that. And if they ask this only when principal applicant is approved

i589- July 2016
Interview- April 30 2025 at the newark office

The officer asked my school certificate to email him during the interview since i was a F-1 student. emailed the certificate on May 1st. (idk if it is a good thing asking my school certificate) and handed me a piece of paper to come pick the decision up on 14th of May.

Decision is pending.

fingers crossed.

That's a good sign that they gave you a note to come back to pick up.
I was interviewed in Newark a year ago and still waiting for the decision.
Good luck and keep us posted!

thank you and will do. i am thinking it's positive for me that the officer asked my transcription from 2016 because why would he want to see my transcript if he was not convinced right? besides, don't they give most of the people a piece of paper about the pick up date nowadays?

I think it's 50/50 now in terms of mailed and pickup decision. And I agree that if they asked for extra documents, that is a good sign.

I had my interview late April in Arlington office, I thought it went very well, lasted about 2.5 hours. The officer didn't push me or repeat their questions when I answered. They asked me to come back for decision pickup in 3 weeks. I asked the officer if it's common for decisions to be delayed and sent by mail and they said no and seemed confident. I am not sure if they were talking in general or they meant that for my situation it's unlikely that the decision will be delayed. A couple of hours after the interview my status switched to Decision is pending and hasn't changed since then. Have you guys had anyone recently pickup a decision and they picked it up in the office without delay and it was a denial?

Anyways, I will keep you posted.

This is a little strange.
I-765 is an employment authorization form.
Timeline that is indicated under it seems to be showing asylum application timeline.
Yes its an asylum case. After the status changed to decision mailed. I checked it in my uscis account and it’s showing like that.

May I ask how did you come to this conclusion?
I thought that only "Fees were waived" is the sign of an approval.
I just got approved recently with the fees were waived status, my form changed from i589 to i765.
Somehow on her type of form changed from i589 to i765 even that's not showing fees were waived, as soon as its approved your form will automaticly changed to the i765, just wait and see.

I have seen alot of people commenting that decision mailed is not a good sign for asylum. I got anxious and nervous about that but hoping the best to come inshallah.
