Interview Location

Dear Sir or Madam,

I am a DV 2022 selectee and my interview has been scheduled at US embassy in Warsaw, Poland.
I am an Afghan national, holding a valid Afghan passport. Currently I am living in Moscow, Russia.

Just today January 28 2022 got the email that my interview has been scheduled for February 11 2022 at US embassy in Warsaw Poland.

Now I should obtain a Schengen Visa in order to travel to Poland. Surely it will take longer than a week for my Schengen Visa application to be processed.

Now I am a little afraid because I will not be able to attend my interview on February 11 2022. I have sent an email to US embassy in Warsaw but I am worried what their reply will be?

What should I do now? Is US embassy in Warsaw gonna help me get a Schengen Visa? Or should I ask to change my interview location to a country where I can easily travel to?

I thank you in advance for your answer.

Dears,

Would you please answer to my question?

Thanks in advance.

The embassy will not help you obtain a Schengen visa. If your interview is scheduled in a country that requires you to have a visa in order to be admitted into that country, it is your responsibility to ensure you have the required documents to allow you be admitted into that country. So:
1. You need to decide on if you can and are able to get the required visa to allow you to enter Poland for your interview as scheduled, or
2. You can consider contacting the embassy and requesting they reschedule your interview for a later date/time (to enable you process the required visa/document for admission to Poland), or
3. Find some other embassy (in some other country you can easily travel to) who is willing to accept your case, then get the case transferred to them and wait for them to schedule a new interview appointment for you.

Those are some of your options. You however need to decide on your own as to which one to take.
