Chat with the border officer

Hi,

Can someone post what type of questions the border officer asks and probably their corresponding answers?
As i was going over the net, i could see that some questions are trickier and not sure what their answer should be -
1) Would you be joining the company now or later? --> What should be the answer here because generally based on the visa, I will give notice to current employer for 2 weeks and then go to new job.
2) If I'm applying for TN, is it recommended to go with family OR first do myself and then my wife & kid?
3) Once i get the visa, Can i return to Canada to wrap up things or IT IS NECESSARY that I need to go to US right away?
4) If I have got 2 degrees evaluated one as US equivalent Bachelor and second as US equivalent Master, what should be mentioned in TN Visa Letter (both of them or just the US Master equivalent)?

Thanks & appreciate all support
Pranav.

Have you considered just answering the questions with the truth? Much less prep needed.

Thanks for the advice. That's my attempt for the first one, I will not be lying i.e for sure.
Any idea on the other points since they aren't related to interview but more about paperwork?

Sorry - no - I got my Green Card through the DV lottery.

That's great bud. If anyone else has any opinion or answers on my topic, I will appreciate if they can share them.

Thanks in advance.

1. The border can withhold approval if you are not going to work immediately, but 2 weeks is usually OK. BTW, you are not obliged to give notice, the company does, not you. A way around this is to arrange a meeting by telephone immediately after you cross. So the answer would be "yes" at this point.

2. go by yourself.
3. See 1
4. The TN letter is about the sponsor, not you. It should only describe your duties and the TN category they are applying for, along with remuneration and duration of employment. It presents the facts under their control, not why they are hiring you. CBP assumes they think you are qualified for the job otherwise they would not be trying to hire you.
YOUR credentials are presented by YOU, in the form of degrees, transcripts, evals , experience letters, etc. not by the TN letter.
