Hi,
I am an US Citizen who is sponsoring my mom for an immigrant visa. I have been a citizen for 4 years. Well my mom had her interview last month on November 13th. She told me her interview went great and she was told all the documents were accepted , yet she did not get the visa, since she not have the correct police certificate and my original birth certificate.
She was given a letter stating that "unable to issue a visa to you because to a found ineligible to receive a visa under the section 221 (g) which prohibits the issuance of visa to anyone whose application does not comply with the provisions of the Immigration and Nationality Act..." And the letter is marked "Further consideration will be given to your visa app after we receive the documents checked below". My mom told me the the lady who interviewed her told her that her visa will be issued when my mom submits the required documents. My original Birth certificate was with the National Visa center . It took 3 weeks for them to send it back to me. Well my mom went to the US Consulate last week December 17th and submitted the documents. We are still waiting for the embassy reach their decision. It is making us nervous. do we have to be worried? Will it take long? Please help.
Thank you

Nothing to worry about. All things being equal, her visa will be issued within a few days after she submits the documents.

Can you confirm if it is 212(G) or 221(G)? 221(G) is not a denial. It means the consulate is not ready to make their final adjudication on the case. Submit the requsted documents and take it from there.
