Hi friends,
According to http://travel.state.gov/visa/immigrants/types/types_5715.html, 16045 DV-2013 Asians were selected on 1st May. Now here is my question.

If 16045 people are selected from Asia, then there should be atleast, I repeat atleast 16045 case numbers for Asia this fiscal year. It could also be higher than that because of gaps inbetween. But I think it can't be less than 16045. Plus, more were selected on 22nd October. So, if we have 16k+ winners, the cut-off must start moving faster enough to accomodate all those cases. Your thoughts?????????????????????

Hi Gabam!

If you counts the selected people all region you will see more than 100 000 candidates has won. So this week I also did the same I counted the Europian case numbers, the result is more than 33 000.
My thought is the winners had been 1st of May, 22nd October there was no another draw, they just changed more people status from has not been selected to you are among those....

That's my oppinion, bit I agree with you, cut-off must goes moving faster:)

EU selectee case number EU42XXX

Hello and congratulations to all who won!!
I am from Russia and found out that I won in DV Lottery, but my case number is pretty high (EU42XXX).
I have also current 3-year-lasting B1/B2 multivisa and possibilities of research position in the US by the end of 2013 on J1 (without 2year return rule) or H1b visa.
What will increase my chances of getting GreenCard? If I apply ASAP through Kentucky center being in Russia or if I apply for Adjustment of Status being in USA (being on B1/B2, or possible J1 or H1b visas)?

Thanks in advance

Neither will increase your chance... It all depends on case number and when it will become current... I might be wrong but AOS looks as an easier process than Consular...

If you are going to live in Russia for next year I`d apply for consular if you are going to live in USA go for AOS.

Some of the winners are hidden. That means open cases could be lower that 16045. That is the case with Europe. There are 33088 winners but open numbers go only to 30700 or a little bit less. The rest of the numbers are hidden.
Hidden numbers are fed during second batch or next batches, if necessary

That is not another draw, that is the very first draw. Still there are only about 30700 open numbers, after all possible draws. But 33088 winners immediately after the draw
