Lost Passport with F1 Visa..Is it safe to go to India again for stamping?

Hi...I am from India and on F1 status..my F1 expires in Dec 2015..I will be graduating in May 2013...Currently i am on my CPT and doing internship...Recently i lost my passport..I applied for a new passport at Indian Embassy, New York and they issued me a new passport..I am planning to go to India to get Visa stamped...So will i be issued the same visa with the same expiry date..Is it safe to go for stamping at this point of time...What are the options i have to get my visa stamped..

I hope you have a copy of that visa. That should help you. I really see no issues for you to re-apply for a fresh F-1 visa.
