Green Card & SSN registration

Dear All,

Can I start the registration of GC & SSN at Oregon if the point of entry was California?

Your green card will be processed at your first point of entry into the USA and then sent out to the address you provide them with. So if you arrive in California first, your green card will be processed there. You can apply for your SSN in Oregon when you get there alright.

you can apply for the SSN after 3 weeks if you do not receive it in the mail by that time. its a easy process. find the nearest SSN office and visit it to apply

One thing more, can my friend (I gave his mail address) send the green card to me from California to Oregon through DHL or UPS , etc.

Yes, you friend can forward the GC to you. Just make sure he sends it via traceable delivery such as Priority mail (through the local post office), FedEx, or UPS. Plus you should remember to do a change of address on USCIS website, once you receive the GC.
