Citizenship application and international travel

I am planning to submit my citizenship application next week. However, I want to book my air tickets for a trip to India in December.

Will I run into any problems as my citizenship application will still be under process ?
I may receive fingerprinting/interview notice when I am outside the country.

You should not run into any issues unless your number of days physically present in the US is very close to the minimum number. Be prepared to return if you receive a fingerprinting/interview notice. Reschedueling should be avoided in my experience.
