Withdrawal of permanent residency

Hello everyone. I am new to the forum, so sorry if I'm on the wrong page.
I moved feom brazil to the USA to live with my mom when I was 16 years old. She was already living here as permanent resident at the time ( she acquired her residency through marriage ). Her and my stepfather quickly applied for my green card, and in a short period of time, I was also a permanent resident. I am now 18 years old, and I've been wanting to live on my own, and start my own life in a different state. I have tried talking to them, but they seem to have their minds set on what they want me to do, and what path I should follow. My stepfather has stated that he signed a I-864 affidavit of support for me, and if I do not abide by their rule, he will have my permanent resident status revoked. Which is something he said only he has the right to do. Now my question is, is all of this true?? Can he really have my permanent residednt status taken away? Sorry for the long story. Thank you very much for any help
 
He cannot do jack however try to have an amicable departure.

It seems like your mother already had a green card for over a year before you got your green card. So she could have become a citizen before your 18th birthday. Did that happen? If yes, you can claim US citizenship based on that fact, if you meet the other relevant conditions.

Of course, the problem is that for you to obtain official recognition of your US citizenship, you'll need cooperation from your mother to get her citizenship and custody documents so you can apply for a US passport or citizenship certificate. If they resist, remind them that there is a benefit for them (at least for your stepfather); your citizenship would terminate his obligations under the affidavit of support.

But even if you don't qualify for citizenship on that basis, he still can't do anything to touch your permanent resident status if you already have a 10-year green card. At least not without incriminating himself -- he could claim that his marriage to your mother was a sham, which could result in her green card and yours ultimately being revoked, but then he would implicate himself in the scam.
