I am planning to file Greencard for my mother who is going to come here on Visitor visa.

As I heard there is going to be medical stage in the green card process. So, I was wondering if...

1. Would it help if she does her medical in India before she comes here?

2. Does she need to bring her old or current medical records, shots records etc with her?

Kindly provide any help with this.

Thanks in Advance.

USCIS requires medical examination to be done in the US for adjustment of status applicants. However she can get some vaccinations done in India and bring proof so that she can avoid paying for those in the US. Any old medical records will also be helpful.

Thanks nkm-oct23!

Can you please tell me if there are any specific vaccinations that she needs to take?

You're planning to have her complete the green card process within the US? She's not supposed to do that when after entering the US with a tourist visa. If the immigration officer at the port of entry finds out she's planning to do that, she'll be sent back on the next available flight.

She should bring vaccination records to the immigration medical exam (whether the medical is done in the US or in India). She should not proactively get vaccinations before the medical exam; the doctor will determine what is needed based on the vaccinations she has already received and her age and history of major contagious diseases (e.g. polio, measles, hepatitis, tuberculosis). She does not need to bring medical records for the diseases she has suffered, but she should know what she had and when she had it so the doctor can order the relevant blood tests or X-Rays if necessary.

She should go through Consular Processing because she is outside the U.S. and desires to enter with an immigrant intent.

You have outlined an intention to commit fraud. Don't. The fraud plan you describe is the main reason why elderly parents have such a hard time getting tourist visas. ESPECIALLY in India!

Also, did you even ask her if she wants this? A greencard is NOT a substitute for a tourist visa so if that is all she will actually be then that is what she should have.
