Alright, i am all set to send my application, but i am having trouble answering Question 33. I am a student and applying on the base of the 5 year residency. I was in school all this time, and i was registered with Selective service since 2006. I have my number and date of join too. Now should i answer this question as YES or NO ?
I moved here when i was 19 and have been registered ever since.

33. Are you a male who lived in the United States at any time between your 18th and 26th Birthdays, in any status except as a lawful nonimmigrant ?

I really don't get this question. I have lived as a Legal Non-Resident. Don't know if there is any other status i come under.

Would appreciate some help.

Thanks.

Did you have a green card at any time between your 18th and 26th birthday? If yes, you should answer yes to question 33.

IF you had come on a student visa then got a nonimmigrant (H1-B) and then got a greencard; (or overstayed a visa and married a USC and then got a greencard) at age 27 or later then you would have answered no.

BUT IF you came illegally and got amnesty and then got a greencard it would be yes. Illegals and greencardholders are the aliens who have to register.

Your posts here provide contradictory and inconsistent information.

In the initial post you claim:
I have lived as a Legal Non-Resident.

Later you claim:
I landed in U.S with a Green Card and have been on it ever since.

At least one of these statements is false as they directly contradict each other.

If you arrived in the U.S. on a green card, they you have been a legal resident since day one in the U.S.
If you have lived in the U.S. as a "a Legal Non-Resident", then you must have entered on a nonimmigrant visa (F-1, J-1 or whatever).

So which of your posts is actually true? At what age did you enter the U.S. and in which status? How old were you when you received your green card?

I think i just wrote that wrong.

I was 18-19 when i came in and i landed with a Green Card. I never had a Non-Resident visa, as in Tourist/Student/H1-B etc.

And i just turned 25 last week.

Sorry for the confusion, and i think the answer to that would be YES in my case.

Another quick questions. I was thinking of getting my pictures clicked from the Post office. Would the pictures suffice the USCIS requirement ?

In that case you should answer "yes" to Q33 and enclose evidence of Selective Service registration.

Thank you everyone for the help.

One last quick question. Would it be alright if i get my pictures clicked at the post office and send them ? I think so they would suffice the photograph requirements ?

Getting for pictures take at the post office should not be a problem. I had mind done at Walmart lol. I remember back in the day, it was restricted on where you could have you pictures taken, but this is no longer and issue.

Anyplace which takes photographs in the USCIS specifications will be fine. Color photographs, white to off-white background, printed on thin paper with a glossy finish should be submitted. Photos should not be retouched. The size of the photograph should stick to the USCIS mentioned specifications.
