Hi,

I have a few questions regarding for my step-mom.
I came here with DV Lottery and now I am a citizen.
When the data were filled, I used my biological parents name who were both passed away in 1982 and 1999. I didn't use my step-mom's name.

Now I want to file a petition I-130 for my step-mom. Will that be ok?
I am fear that I didn't fill up her name as my mom.
My dad married her while I was 9. Actually she is my aunt.

Thanks

Your father married his late wife's sister? Is that common there?

You just have to prove the relationship was legal.

Presuming that your parents were married, the you need your parents' divorce decree or mom's death certificate followed by his legal re-marriage PLUS any required similar documents as for dad if the stepmom was previously married.

Well...
It is not very common. But we ware still young and some1 had to be there.
My Aunt is not a stranger so she is like our mom. better than others.
Do I need my father's death certificate?

rgds,

Hi,

Here is another issue. She doesn't have her birth certificate. During the time she was born, there was no proper system and registration office in our country. So I heard that she can obtain affidavit for her birth certificate. Is that true? Will USCIS accept it?

Another problem is her marriage certificate with my father. She doesn't have it either. For this as well, can we submit affidavit as well?

Thanks

Go to the state department website's reciprocity table and select the country to see the evidence expected. USCIS uses the same in formation that is provided by State.
