L1 visa currently in India

Hello sir,

I am from India. I been to US on my L1B visa for couple of months and now came back to India in the month of July 2011.
My L1 visa is valid till 2013. I am still working with same company in India.
Me and my girlfriend want to get married, in this regards I would like to know, can I enter in US on my L1 visa and get married without joining my employer and then file change of status?

After filling change of status should I come back to India and once status is changed go back to US?

I am not going to resign or leave my current job as I know as soon as I resign or leave my present company my Visa will be null. I will be taking one month leave.

When you wrote "change of status" do you mean adjustment of status to permanent residence? Or do you mean changing to another nonimmigrant status like H1B or F1?

Is your future wife a US citizen who will petition for your marriage-based green card? Or is she a noncitizen without a green card, and you're hoping she can get a green card as your dependent based on your emploment-based green card process?

Please give a more complete picture of the facts so we can give an accurate response.

Once you enter with the L1, you must go to work for the employer unless they terminate you after your arrival in the US and before you get a chance to show up for work.
