Hi,
My wife's asylum was approved a couple of weeks ago. She got the new I-94 the other days, but during the application process her passport was also taken away. That passport might even be expired by now...Now if she needs to visit another country (with the travel authorization), how that will happen? Do we have to request the old passport somewhere or just ask for a new one from her country?

Don't renew your passport of your country of persecution. It could be grounds of cancellation of your asylum. To be safe, for travel purposes, use the RTD or the Rentry permit.
