One last question before mailing N-400

So, my 5 years - 90 days date is finally here and I think I am ready to send the application. Thanks for all the regulars here who go out of their way to help out. Your help has been priceless.

After reading thoroughly the Guide and the Documents Needed for Naturalization thread, I have one last question before bring my application to the post office for mailing:

I see that most people's experience here and directions applies to people who go their GC through marriage or work. I received my GC from my mother.

Under the Document Check List in the Guide, it says there are 3 things all applicants must send with their application: Photos, Copies of front and back of GC and fee. The rest of documents listed does not apply to me as I have not received through marriage, I have registered for Selective Service and I meet the residency requirements.

So should I be sending only my N-400, Photos, Money Order with Fee and copies of GC?

Is there anything else that goes with the package?

Thanks!

Thanks BigJoe5, I was thinking to also include a copy of my passport and tax transcripts, but I don't know if that will help or hurt.

Should I just go with what I was going to originally send in and keep everything else for the interview? I was just trying to avoid RFEs.

Do you have numerous trips or even a small number of long trips? If yes, passport is important. If no, it is irrelevant.

Are you divorced and paying child support? If yes, taxes or cancelled checks proving that the obligation is being met would be important. If no, it is irrelevant.

If the additional evidence is irrelevant than it will only slow the adjudicator down and make him/her wonder why you submitted it and perhaps imagine a reason.

So, when you send a medical evaluation from a psychiatrist they will assume you are crazy.

Good one ;)

You are right. I have 16 short trips and I have attached a separate sheet to list the extras. The most I've been out of the country during these 5 years was 3 weeks at time, with total time outside of the USA being just 120 days. Even so, I was not planning to send every single page with a exit/entry stamp on it, I just meant to send the passport page with photo, but since it is not being asked, I will not.

I will send everything out tomorrow since the post offices are closed today due to the snow storm.

Thanks!
