Amitabh,

Where did you interview? Dallas?
Please post your timeline as well.

I am in the same situation and am quite distressed. Talked to my lawyer and all she could say was to contact the Senator/Congressman etc. I think that is unwarranted at this time but I do wish there were a way to check the status of the application etc. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Case Timeline:

Lewisville TX

4/9/10: Mailed to TSC
4/12/10: Receipt date (PD 4/12)
4/19/10: Check cashed
5/5/10: FP letter received
5/6/10: Walk in FP done (Originally scheduled for 5/24)
6/8/10: YL received
7/9/10: Interview date. Done.(Dallas Office) Passed/Approved. Oath deferred because two days short of 5 years.
00/00/00: OL Received
00/00/00: Oath Date

I guess this is exactly why I go against the idea of walk in FP, b/c unless you are applying with 5-yr under your belt already, you would have to wait until the completion of your 5-yr residency requirement one way or the other. Apparently you traded 19 days for more than a month (and counting) of delay.

Rushing things not always helps. Specially for those who literally count days for 5 years minus 90 days formula and end up with this.

The fact that JaBhai was 2 days short of 5 years does not necessarily correlate to the long delay. In other words, having interview before anniversary date does not automatically mean it will take longer to adjudicate your case than if you had your interview done after anniversary date.

I agree with you but the DAO probably put that file in his office to possibly put a approval stamp on it after the anniversary date, now when he will get to that file between other interviews and all the rukus that he has to go thru is uncertain. An info pass might wake him up and turn to that corner where that file is, only if the IO at info pass gets up the chair and actually goes and inquires about it prompting attention. Again I'm just speculating.

Oppsss..sorry for the delay..here's my details

N400 Applied -03/10

FP -05/26/10

Interview - 07/08/10

Can someone please paste info pass link or provide contact phone number?

Re: Oath Letter Delayed - Update

Guys,

Thanks so much for the advice, I was able to get my Oath Letter issued within 10 days. I simply did what was advised by someone on this forum - called USCIS but was given the same status. Next step - I sent mild reminder to local DO office where I had given interview with the copy of interview letter and voila I got Oath Ceremony letter within a week...the Oath ceremony is slated in next 2 weeks which mean probably they did not plan to send me the oath letter for this ceremony!

Anyways, thanks once again and keep the momentum going....!!
