Hello my name is Emanuel Salcedo and my uncle (mom´s brother) filled a I-130 in the month of APRIL 2001. I have been checking the visa bulletin and it says that this month they should actually pass April and go all the way to the cases filled in August. I´m currently living in Peru and I want to know how much more time I should wait. What worries me is that I turned 22 this year but I was only 13 when the case was submitted. It was approved on November of 2005 so...does that mean I would qualify also? Or would I have to wait for my parents to get approved and them have them file for me? Thank you for all your help.

On November 17, 2005, we mailed you a notice that we have approved this I130 IMMIGRANT PETITION FOR RELATIVE, FIANCE(E), OR ORPHAN. Please follow any instructions on the notice. If you move before you receive the notice, call customer service at 1-800-375-5283.

Since you were under 21 on Nov 17, 2005 you qualify to be processed and receive a immigrant visa with your mother, you may want to call NVC to get a clear picture as to approximately when that will happen, it may be still be several months before it will be processed at the embassy.

You have 4 years and 7 months of buffer here. In other words, you will receive an immigrant visa with your mother as long as you are less than 25 years and 7 months old when her visa is issued.

Incorrect.

No. The age on the I-130 approval date is not the deciding factor. The OP will be eligible for an immigrant visa next month, but not on the basis of your reasoning.

So supposing it comes out this year (God willing next month) I would qualify? What should I expect once I do get a response letter? I´ve heard that they send me a letter and I have 3 months to get some med exams done? I read something on the "check my case" web page that mentioned having an oath ceremony? How and what would I do there?

I don't see you getting to an oath ceremony for a greencard...lol!!! You will only be getting a GC, but it will require a I-693 medical form to check on some medical information.

I was born in Peru. Qualify right now....so I should wait a couple weeks? Would I get an e mail or would a package be sent to my house in Peru? I want to know because our mail system is not the best. Anyway I can change it so that I will get at least an e mail knowing I have to go to a certain clinic to get the exams done? Thank all of you once again for your help. Yes my mom is in the 4th preference category.
