Hi. Am jane. Am traveling on a b1/b2 visa very soon to the u.S. I was supposed to travel with my mum but unfortunately she may not be able to come along. My problem is i have it written in my annotation as ''traveling to florida with mum ANN JONES''. Do you think i will be denied entry at the port just because i dont have my mum with me? I have been to the u.S twice before though. And am also very old enough to go on my own. Please answer me urgenly.

Not neccessarily. If the POE officer is satisfied with your purpose of visit, entry may be granted to you.

Thanx for your reply. But may i again know what it is that could make him unsatisfied with my purpose of visit? In other words how can i convince him?

Business travelers may enter the United States using a B1, or 'Visitor for Business' Visa. In practice these visas are invariably issued as jointly with B2, or 'Visitor for Pleasure' (i.e. Tourist) visa. This practice means that, if a candidate has an old tourist visa, it may be valid for a planned business trip. For those who come under the visa-waiver scheme, details of which are provided below, there is usually no need to apply for a visit visa at all if the candidate wishes to visit the US for three months or less.

While in the US as a business visitor, an individual may:

* Conduct Negotiations
* Solicit sales or investment
* Discuss planned investment or purchases.
* Make investments or purchases
* Attend Meetings, and participate in them fully.
* Interview and hire staff.
* Conduct research.
