LPR ready to file for Green card for wife help.

I'm a legal resident for the past 8 years from Canada and now that my wife from Canada of 6 years has retired from work she want to be here with me full time.We did a lot of commuting with her staying with me in Florida for months at a time and i return to Canada to be with her about the same.
Any ideas on the time frame when i apply for her Green card and things i should watch out for?

You really should have started this when you got married. Do you have any plans on becoming a US citizen? If not, it's going to take years to get her a GC.
 
I did not want to get it for her when we got married because she ad 6 years to go on retirement from her job.
She did not want to lose her pension.
I do want to get Citizenship so would it be better to apply for her after i get it?

The reason that I mention this is that there's a several year waiting list for the spouses of permanent residents, so it makes sense to file early. Right now there's a two year wait for FB2A for Canada, which in my experience is unusually low. The downside is that a pending I-130 makes entry to the US more difficult, even for Canadians, but since she has a demonstrated track record of leaving the US I doubt it would be a problem in her case.

Yes. File your N-400 ASAP. It'll be 4-6 months until approval, then 6-12 months for her to get a consular visa interview in Montreal for her GC.
 
So if i get my n-400 first it is much easier for her to get her green card.
Are the n-400's now getting done that quick?

Looking at the n 400 form i see that they ask how many days you have been outside of the the USA in the last 5 years and list the trips by date?
How does one remember back 5 years?

You're supposed to keep records of the trips if you're interested in getting citizenship.

Do you have even an approximate memory of your trips (month/year)? Are you uncertain of whether you met the 30 month physical presence requirement?
