DV2011 winners who already in USA

Hi guys
i am DV2011 winner and i am already in USA with F1 visa
should i send DS 122 and DS 230 or what please tell me exactly what should i do
 
when did you get it? I'm on F1 as well, waiting for it to come. in whicn state are you?

You should apply to change your status in the immigration office. There is a specific link for those who are already in the US and winning the lottary. Another piece of advice, talk to your school international advisors. They will walk you through, and free of charge.Good luck

i suggest you read the thread 'dv2010 aos only' ... it has more than a hundred pages of valuable information that will give you a good idea how to proceed. and many winners in 2010 are also f1 visa holders.

so far i knew that i should send DS 122 ( just me ) , DS 230 ( for me and my wife ) , 2 pics ( for me and my wife ), barcode sheet, and i think 750$ ( for both ) right
correct me if that wrong

yes ... that's about right.... like boer's link to the '2011 aos only' thread.
i suggest you join that thread and start posting there as i see more and more 2011 winners doing aos posting there.
you will learn a lot as you share experiences with the rest.
some 2010 aos people are also involved in that thread and helping answer some questions and providing advice.

- What do you mean by "AOS intent" (you said you sent "DS230+ AOS intent")?
- Why did you send the DOS check (375$) so late? I am thinking of sending it at the same time with my DSP-122 (separate envelopes of course).

hi reptile,
"aos intent" in my signature meant that i informed kcc of my intent to adjust status.
why i sent my fee so late ... good question .... when i think about it i want to laugh again :)
what happened was i was too excited to send everything back to kcc. i sent the check to the wrong place and it was returned and i had to send it again and all this took about a month because it took them so long to return my check.
you are right , they should be sent out at the same time.

Btw, do you know if i have the right to leave the US without an Advance Parole given i still have not filed i485? I am worried about going back to my country on F1 after sending ds230. Can this create problems?

as long as you have not filed your i485, you can travel. only after you file your i485 you are not supposed to leave the country, they will assume that you are abandoning your application if you do that (after you file i485). so advanced parole will be required then.

Hi there, I am a DV-2011 winner. Can anyone tell me when my lottery number will becomes current on the visa bulletin. I am having trouble figuring out when exactly this is. My number is 2011AF00013XXX. Please help.
 
Here is the link for the visa bulletin travel+state+gov/visa/frvi/bulletin/bulletin_1360+html (substitute "+" with ".")
Now you can only see numbers for the people who won DV2010. For example, in bulletin for june 2010 in the "B" category (Diversity Immigrant) for Africa region current numbers are below 45,600.
DV2011 winners like you will start to see their numbers in october 2010.

Thanks you for the kind response. That gives me a little more understanding of the visa bulletin. Does anyone know what information is contained in NL2(Second Notification Letter) and at what stage this is sent. Ive already sent my docs to KCC and payment to DOS. Also is this something that we are going to need if we are interviewed or when sending the AOS. Clearly this whole deal can become very stressful in a short period of time.
