Hi, My mother is a GC holder. She is 75 years old and will be completing 5 years of her GC next year.
She doesn't know any English and it will be very difficult for her to pass the citizenship test, even if it is
done in her native language. She has been a housewife all her life. As I sponsored her, she doesn't have
any medical insurance thru the state. I have purchased a medical insurance for her which doesn't cover
much because of her age. My question is , does she need to be a citizen before she qualifies for Medicaid
or Medicare (not sure which one) or once she completes 5 years she automatically qualifies for this benefit?
Any response will be greatly appreciated. thanks,
