I have always filed taxes but last year it was beyond the due date. I paid my penalty for late filing immediately. IRS sent me a letter reminding me for my return & I immediately settled the matter. I do not owe any taxes.
Since I filed late, I am considering it is still OK for me to say "No" to the "failure to file" question. Could you please confirm?
I have the transcripts with me , just mailed my N400 to USCIS - as I was tired of agonizing over this question!!
