Leaving the USA on green card through Asylum

My mom has a Green card through Asylum. Her Indian passport was lost in a theft (she has police report). She is eligible to apply for US Citizenship on July 26, 2010.

She has to go back to India before July 26th, 2010 because of some family emergency. We had applied for her travel document (I-131) which we have received from the INS. Before going to India she is planning to go to Nepal to visit a temple and from there she will go to India.

Question is that her travel document is for 1 year. Can she stay in India for more than 6 months without it affecting her green card? Will they revoke her green card if she enters the US after 6 month period? OR can she stay for a year as she has gotten a Travel Document from INS.

Can someone shed some light?
 
there is no way u can stay outside for 6 months on 1 yrs TD, here is how, when TD gets issued and then sent and time for applying visa and all this. month is easily gone, then way back to US< customr officers there will require minimum 6 months validity on TD.
 
oh, if she has GC< she should apply for re entry permit which is valid for 2 yrs where as RTD for one year only. it is same form but u just choose the RE ENTRY PERMIT section. i just applied a week ago.
 
nepal and india, visa free , u cna travel by bus visa free only with nepal or indian residency document. asylum from india? winning asylum from someone in india is very hard!
 
Hi, Guys it think i'm in the right forum here. I got my Fingerprint on July 13 2010, hoping I got the Rtd very soon. I have a question to ask, maybe some one can help me. I am planning to travel to singapore, however i called the embassy and they said they don't recognize RTD, and they ask me to travel with my NP, which is very impossible to do so. Thank you so much guys
