Hi everyone!
My husband was GC holder and on December 19, 2006 he filled for me petition I-130. This petition was pending until November 25, 2009 when my husband became US citizen. The same day my husband called USCIS and upgraded this petition. I've never recived any letter or e-mail confirming this upgrade. The only letter which came said that on November 25, 2009 (the day the upgrade took place) my I-130 was transferred from Vermont to Texas. Few days later we filled I-485, I-765, I-864, G-325A for both of us, attached receipt of I-130 and my husband's copy of naturalization certificate. Processing of all remaining petitions was very smooth. My fingerprints were taken and a month later I had my EAC and SS on hand. Even though I-130 was still not approved, on March 8, 2010 we had our AOS interview. By the way, this interview (Garden Citi, NY) was very difficult, so many questions asked very fast, many details about both families, dates and places. We are real married couple since 2006 with children and our interview lasted 30 min. At the end of the interview IO told us that everything looked good, but he couldn't give us the decision, because some paperwork was still in process. We suspect that this paperwork is I-130 which is still pending. If someone can advise if this is normal proceeding and how long more will I have to wait for my GC? Thank you.

Hi iuriikyryk,

I think that you should wait until you become citizen, then apply all petitions. From my own experience I know that it's better this way. My husband did apply for me I-130 before he became citizen and now we have a problem. I think that my applications can't meet in one local office, because they were filled separetely. I am 1.5 months after interview and nothing came, I am still waiting. I wanted to mention that I came to the US on tourist visa 12 years ago.

Yesterday, May 26, 2010, I received an e-mail from USCIS saying that my I-130 was transferred from Texas to NY Local office (I guess the one where our interview took place). I really hope that my I-130 and I-485 will be approved soon, since our AOS interview was conducted on March 8, 2010.

My "GC" journey:
12/08/2006 - I-130 sent to Vermont (husband LPR)
12/19/2006 - NOA for I-130 received
11/18/2009 - I-130 transferred from Vermont to Texas (NOA)
11/25/2009 - I-130 upgraded by phone (husband became US citizen)
11/27/2009 - I-485, I-765 & both G-325A sent
12/04/2009 - NOA for I-485 & I-765 received
12/08/2009 - Biometrics appointment notice
12/31/2009 - Biometric appointment
01/04/2010 - I-693 sent (Report of Medical)
01/11/2010 - Medical received by USCIS
01/25/2010 - EAD received
03/08/2010 - AOS interview (no decision made)
05/26/2010 - I-130 transferred from Texas to NY local office
