Re-applying for Travel documents what to do with old or expired I-131

Hi there,

My mother applied a Refugee Travel document (I-131) which expired without use it. Now she is applying it again.

1. Do we need to return the Original Refugee Travel documents which not used or Expired?
2. Her Green Card I-485 is pending what is the fee waiver process?

Your answers would be greatly appreciated.

Yes, as far as I know she needs to send her expired RTC with her aplication, at least that's what I had to do when I renewed mine few years ago...

regarding my second questions. ( no.2)
Does she has to request for fees waiver or NSC automaticly knows about her pending I-485 (GC) application and waive the fees automaticly?

I heard that once we have GC application pending, fees for RTD is not required, if so, what documents should they (NSC) need before they waive the fees for RTD?

She doesn't have to send it in. When my travel documents have expired, I've just written EXPIRED and I've been fine without sending it in.

1. technically, you should return the expired TD regardless used or not. however, if you just reapply it without returning it, there is a good chance the uscis will issue a new travel document. USCIS's concern is that the document might be used for an illegal purpose, so either return it or take good care of it...

As far as the fee waiver and pending I-485, is concerned a, I have never heard of any correlation between them. My understanding is each time one applies for RTD, they have to pay for the fee unless they may qualify fee waiver under other categories like low income ....good luck
