You are not supposed to count time outside the US before you became a permanent resident. I know the wording of the form misled you into thinking you need to go back 5 years even though you got your green card less than 5 years ago, but surely it would have seemed strange to you to count the pre-GC days, and you could have asked here for clarification.During the last three years, I was out of the USA for only 12 days as a Green Card Holder. On Part 7, Clause A she asked how come I was out of the country for 826 days during those last three years as a GC holder. I explained her that it was because I qualify under a three-year rule but the question was asking for 5-year period. Since I was not present in the U.S. before getting the Green Card, that’s why I added 365 plus 365 extra days. She got confused and made me confused and started keying in her computer and arguing with me on that. Finally, I clarified that I got the Green card on 2/24/2007 and since that time I was absent from the US for only 12 days. Then she was able to understand and shifted the blame on me that I made a mistake.

To the OP, whether the IO is funny or serious should not matter as long as he/she is fair. However, you seemed to be tempting fate with the prostitute question. For example, if there is one place not to say "bomb", it is the airport. Similarly, if there is one place you do not want to joke about prostitution, it is during this interview.

I think you are joking again, and you like this kind of humor, and can not live without it. Fits the American stereotype I have in my mind. So, it is good that you passed and are truly an American, Congratulations!!
