Hi,
My parents visited me in US 8 years back. They were given 10 year visa at the time. Now they plan to visit me again. The visa is still valid for one year. My status has been changed from H1 to GC.
My question is do I need to do anything for their travel (i-134 etc) or can they just travel with their visa and passport? Is there any formality required, other than buying the ticket and flying? Do they need any document? Please advise. Thank you.

They should have no problems. Be sure thay have current address and phone handy to complete the forms and be able to contact you in an emergency.

I hope they have a great visit.

Thanks !!

Now, I only need to find a way to get them health insurance here. Any receommendations? The company I used when they came before, had merged with AIG a few years back and hence I have to start my search all over again.

Triple Citizen.... Thanks for the response. I think the i-134 is required to get the visa in the embassy. They should not need it at the time of entry but I wanted to make sure I donot leave any lose ends.

The other thing I have to find it is that my mother needs to carry her insulin injections with her and once I book the tickets, probably airline might advise how she does it. As far as I know, it should not be a problem carring those injections.

Thanks again !!!

Our recent purchases have been US for travel elsewhere so I cannot recommend anyone.

An individual named Narenda posts to other forums. He is an insurance agent representing several different companies an can assist you in finding the most appropriate policy for them. Try a web search including his name. Be sure you mentio preexisting condition because there is one company that covers emergency treatment for preexisting conditions while most do not.

Insulin should not be a problem. I suggest her doctor write a letter of explanation with proper dosages, etc in case you need to have an emergency replacement; your doctor will be better able to assist you in that event. If she or your Dad does not speak English, have her carry a card with that information in her purse so that it can be shown in case of emergency or at any US airport security check.

Thanks

Thanks Concerned4us. I will do as you suggested. This is helpful.

That too is not a requirement but applicants from certain nations assume so. Your parents already have a visa. All they need to do is turn up at the POE and apply for admission. Good luck!!!
