I think this is a mess here as to where to post tracking. I found people tracking based on citites, USCIS offices, quarters, months, etc.

From what I read, all N-400 cases are handled in NBC, then sent to local office for interview. Therefore, there is no meaning in tracking based on local office until interview.

Quarter based / Month based makes more sense.

I finally decided to put my tracking info under SEP2009. I thought month based makes more sense, because anybody can quickly checkout the current processing times by going to any particular month ...

BTW, I am a N400 newbie - can somebody expand some acronyms in this board: DO?

I think it would be a great idea to discuss and make a decision on where to track and put a really short sticky explaining the decision.

DO means district office.

Posting your timeline under the appropriate DO thread will let applicants from that DO see how long on average processing is taking.

DO is a your local district office. You can find it by entering your zip code in the below link:

https://egov.uscis.gov/crisgwi/go?action=offices.type&OfficeLocator.office_type=LO

Then update the related thread with your timeline keep updating the thread as others do.
If you have specific issues, you can search in entire forum or post as a new thread.
