I am a Canadian permanent resident with 10 yr multiple B1/B2 visa. I entered USA in a private car by road on a B2 for 12 days. I still have the i-94 (valid until November '09) which was not taken by the Canadian officer while entering Canada by road. I realize that this needs to be sent to London, Kentucky with relevant proof like credit card receipts/ atm statements showing my physical presence in Canada, which I can, after which the relevant departure date can be recorded.
However, I need to visit US next week, this time by flight, for around 5 days on business(B1). So do not know if I should send this out to Kentucky or hold on to it when taking the flight to US. Is this a problem when I try to enter US on a B1 next week since I still hold an unexpired I-94(B2)? Do I need to send this out to Kentucky and only then travel? Kentucky does not confirm receipts so it is not possible to know if the departure date has been recorded against my name.
Also, what is the minimum number of days one is allowed to stay when visiting on a B1? I might need to extend for a few days more. If I say I am visiting for 5 days, will I get entry stamp valid for only 5 days? Thank you for your help.
