Guys,

Does anyone know how long it usually takes to get the Interview/Yellow Letter once the online status have been changed? MY status changed to the one below a few days ago, and I was just curious.

Thanks!

Your case has been transferred to a local office and an interview will be scheduled. As part of our standard processing you will be sent a notice when the interview is scheduled, or if the office needs something from you. If you move while this case is pending, please use our Change of Address online tool to update your case with your new address. We process each kind of case in the order we receive them. You can use our processing dates to estimate when this case will be done.

I saw at least 2 or 3 posts where it just took 3 or 4 days after the message change for the IL to arrive. My status changed to this on 8/25/2009 and am now eagerly awaiting the IL. Not sure though if it will take 2 days :) or 2 weeks :( or 2 months . Hopefully soon!

I've read here that the IL will have the same date as the date of the update on the website.....just wait for it any time soon =)

I agree that for a couple of other posters the date on the IL has been the same or one day before the date the online status changes. However, the description states that the case is being sent to the local DO and a date will be scheduled. This is somewhat confusing because it leads one to believe that for some reason the interview is likely to be scheduled now (in queue) and not already scheduled. Of course with USCIS you never know.....

Wouldnt be long check my time line

You don't really have when the online status changed to "Sent for Interview" in your time line.

Rich-

I think is just a standard wording they use, Im not so sure. I did read that they get the IL right after this change of status like I said =)

Interview Letter date vs. Online Update date

I spoke to an Information Office during my last InfoPass appointment and was told that the interview scheduling occurs as follows:

- Service Center Sends out the applicant's File to the District Office (DO)
- As part of the same process, the Interview Date/Time is scheduled in the system for the case
- The letter is sent to the applicant with the assigned Interview Date/Time

Please don't forget to update your Signature..
