New to this whole process so any help would be great!
I am am American and met my husband (a Canadian) in college while he was here on a F-1 student visa. We have since graduated and he applied for OPT to extend his student visa. We were married this past January and are just setting out to tackle the necessary paperwork now that I have a job and can provide proof I'll be able to support him.
We are planning to concurrently file our I-130/I-485 as soon as possible. However, are having problems with the criminal history section on the I-485. Back in the summer of 2000, my husband was pulled over and cited for underage drinking and driving. He remembers having a 30 day suspension of license and paying a fine. He has no paperwork from the incident. When he called the county courthouse for records they stated records are only kept on file for 7 years. So our questions are...
*What should he answer on the I-485?
*What evidence do we need to supply and how can we get it?
Any help would be great - thanks!
