Leaving before receving Advance Parole

I got a emergent case and may need to leave US for my home country very soon. My I-485 is pending and PD is not current yet. It may take three months to get I-131(Advance Parole) to approve. Does anyone know if I can leave without receiving the Advance Parole? I am thinking to mail out the application now and leave, and have my husband to mail the approved I-131 to me later on.

I have read some information online saying if I leave US without the Advance Parole, I will be considered to abandone the greencard application. Is it true?

Thanks a lot!

You need to obtain AP before leaving the country.

Are you on H1B? If yes, you will need to get the H1B visa stamp at the consulate abroad and enter on H1B.

By law, certain individuals must apply for a travel document and have Advance Parole approved before leaving the United States. Attempts to reenter the United States without prior authorization may have severe consequences since individuals requiring advance parole may be unable to return to the United States and their pending applications may be denied or administratively closed.
