Two questions AP and 485

Dear Gurus

I have two questions for you.

1) I did not know that we have to send photographs if we e-file AP. My wifes' EAD apporved (without sending photographs and no fingerprint appointment) in 25 days and still waiting for AP, case not ofund online like many others. I had to go for fingerprnting for my EAD and AP got RFE for photgraphs(?????). My question is can we send my wife's photoes even she did not get RFE? It has been more than 2 months since she applied and did not recieve any thing. I applied 20 days after her and got RFE. Even if I call USCIS I dont think I will get any response as case is not found. There is no way to track whats going on. Our travel dates are very near. What should I do now?

2) How long it usually takes after reply to RFE to hear any thing for 485? If we got RFE does it at least mean that our 485 is good to be approved or they just keeping everything ready and wait until visa number?

3) Our family did finger printing in Oct. 2007, I am understanding we have to go for FP at least one more time. What if I get FP appointment while I am in India this summer?
4) Is it safe to travel on H1 before AP approval?

If you apply EAD efile, you should receive biometrics by then they can capture your photo and do one finger print. I do not know how your wife's EAD approved without biometrics or even photos. Is there any photo on the card?
Yes you can send photos without waiting for RFE, just send the photos with copy from the receipt and cover letter
RFE for I485 is mostly good sign if there is visa number available (current PD), if the date is not current, this is something officer do to keep their job going and the USCIS will ot think of firing any and has nothing to do with you, just respond and forget about it
If you get FP, RFE ....etc you have to respond within the time mentioned or there will be an adverse effect on your pending status. The USCIS will not keep track if you are in US or India or any where else, this is your responsibility to respond to the RFE or show up for FP or at least call and resechedule it per the FP notoce,, if any
H1 has nothing to do with the AP application and you do not even need AP if you have valid H and valid H stamp to travel and come back with the H

Thanks for quick reply, My wife's EAD has a photograph on it and finger printing too. I think they might have taken it from her I485 biometrics we did long time before. I went to biometrics for EAD, but still asked me for photoes fro 131 though I sent 131 and 765 in the same packet.

I see update on mine and wife's 485 that they recieved reply and case has been resumed, but not on my children, though I sent in the same packet. Is that some thing to worry about? Do I have to call them? or send the seperate packet for them again?

Same package or separate does not mean that much. Evey case is separate with variable RFEs, approval dates, ....etc even if they glued together
 
Thanks, I called them today, NSC told me that they have it and may be online status is not updated.
