Consular Processing: How long to get GC

Could some one help in letting me know how long does it take to get a GC for some one entering USA following Consular Processing. The immigration officer at the port of entry merely states that it takes anything between two weeks and six months! And is there any way to track it. USCIS website does not give any info for such case.

That's about right. I'd expect 30-60 days.
