Hello all,
I apologize for being extremly uneducated on this subject, but i see some of you are very educated knowing all the form #s and so forth. Here is my story
I'm Russian and imigrated with my Father here in 1996, after many years of fighting to get a GC my dad got married to an american citizen about 4-5 years ago. He just went through his whole interview and he is now an american citizen. When we left in 96' we had to leave my older brother behind as they wouldnt let him come with us because he was married and not a part of our family.
Needless to say he is now Divorced and i would love to see him come over here, im just very unsure of the whole process of what it will take for my Dad to file paperwork and how long it will take as well.
If anyone can shed some light on this subject i would greatly apriciate it.

Your father should sponsor him for a GC using form I-130.

so am I missing something here or what? i see threads in here people are mailing out I130 forms getting aproval in 3 months and getting their visa to enter US in aprox 1 year

You are missing something very important. Those time represent applications for immediate relatives of US citizens. Parents, spouses and minor children. Your brother will fall under FB1, adult child of a US citizen. That category is numerically limited and over-subscribed. Thus the 6.5 years of waiting for it to become current and then 12 months for processing.

so am I missing something here or what?
