Long story short, can we send a check from another persons (cousin) account for my N400 application?

I do not think the USCIS cares who is paying as long as it is paid for. If you want to relax more, send a money order. THis is from www.uscis.gov

"Fees are accepted in the form of money order, personal check or cashiers check only. Checks should be made payable to Department of Homeland Security or U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services"

i paid my n-400 fee from my wife separate account with diff mailing address from mine. they did accept the fee but denied my n-400, which is a long story and can not be made short...aaagghhh.
