Question on 90 day rule

how to count ? (just 90 business days?)

:confused:How 90 days usually get counted - including weekends or just 90 business days earlier than 5 year mark.:confused:

A quick question on applying, my GC was issued on July 10 2004 and my wife's on Aug 14 2004. In order to get combined FP and other processing appointments, should we submit N-400 90 days before Aug 14 2009 (her GC date)?

yes! if you send both applications earlier than May 14 2009, your wife's application will be rejected for not meeting the 90-day rule. I would allow a week or so past the eligibility date ... just to be safe. Good luck!

Sending in both at the same time doesn't mean you will get FP or interview appointments for the same date. The applications are processed independently.

Open up a calendar and start counting. Some months have 31 days :D.

Thanks for the quick response. I see that lot of family members going together for appointments, how do they do it -- do they submit N-400 in one package or they mention a cover note with the app, or is it coincidence -- just curious....
 
In my case I sent both applications together in one envelope but with separate checks. We both got FP, interview and oath together.

IMHO it cannot be coincidence. I submitted two applications in a single envelope (self and wife). Both of us got receipt notices, fingerprinting notices on the same day, and exactly same fingerprinting time.

The applications must be cross-linked, as each N400 has details of and the A-number of the spouse.

It may be coincidence and/or related apps; I guess it makes sense to send the family apps together and see if we get common time slots. Maybe a letter or note requesting common processing should not cause any harm.
