Travelling on RTD

I was just giving you examples of passports not being stamped, since you thought that was IMPOSSIBLE... and I'm an asylee in the US too, and a couple of times, my RTD wasn't stamped.

If the french officer forgot to stamp your passport... this is not a law man, this is a 0.1% chance that we will face such a border officer to forget stamping the passport.

If someone travelling with both RTD and NP to Kuwait and they stamped his NP in Kuwait, then he returned to USA showing only his RTD "hiding the NP"

"what if" the US officer asked you where is the Kuwait stamp?

there is another issue that has not been discussed

tell me about the Kuwait officer in airport... he will ask you when you present to him your NP "where did you come from?" this is a certain question in middle east

"where did you come from?" "where is your departure stamp on NP?"

you will be in difficult situation

My RTD wasn't stamped while entering the US either, not just in France. By the way, I've never been sent to secondary inspection as an asylee traveling on an RTD either. Are you saying that this is impossible too?

It's true that the IO may ask about the Kuwaiti stamps. If that happens, then yes, there may be trouble. But, he may also be oke without a stamp. It all depends on the officer. All I'm saying is that there's flexibility with these things too.

I agree... use your RTD and if you HAD TO use NP then don't lie.... don't hide it by showing an empty RTD

Dude you can't use NP & RTD together. Getting a RTD means that you cant obtain a NP. The instructions ask if you have renwed your NP when you are applying for the RTD.

Refugee law(and i am not an expert) says that if you have an RTD, you cant have a NP. I learned it in 2006 when I had a GC and a RTD..My rtd was about to expire so I took the NP with me..they looked at my application and it was written I had recently been to germany..they asked me how.. I said using RTD..the officer literaly screamed at me that I was breaking the law.

RP+NP is ok but not RTD+NP.

In that case, you don't know the United States, which doesn't always stamp passports. I just entered the EU via France last week, and they weren't even paying attention and let me in. NO STAMP. In fact, when an EU citizen enters or leaves the EU, their passports are not stamped. The IO at a US POE may have information of your travel in advance. In any case, chances are you'll be fine.

Happens to me all the time when they dont stamp. Last year I had a visa and the officer didnt even look at the visa..just at the RP and gave it to me. When I was exiting, they asked me where is the stamp..I told them they never stamped it..they did let me go after making sure the RP was valid etc.

John,
What do they ask in a second inspection ? how long does it take ?

Thanks

they did not ask me anything, they just stamped my travel document,

most of the immigration white officers they really dont care,
you give them your travel document or green card if you had one,

they stampt it and ley you go,

sometimes they even forgot to stamp your RTD OR YOUR PASSPORT,

one day they forgot to stamp my RP IN SFO, I WAS COMING FROM JAPAN,

THE OTHER TIME THEY FORGOT TO STAMP MY NP IN DULLES AIRPORT
I WAS COMING FROM KUWAIT

my I-485 has been denied while my I-140 is still pending. No RFE or any action has been taken until now on I-140. What should I do?

then dont go to those useless countries

Tomorrow If europe decides not to accept RTD's are those countries will be counted useless as well??? There are certain rules which every country follows and thats all. we are not dicussing the policies of certain countries, If my family happens to live there there is nothing I can do about it rather than ask everyone for their advise and suggestions in this matter based on their personal experience, as everyone is here for the same reason. I appreciate everyone's help who are guiding me this issue and best of luck to every !

It will be a negative point against them for sure

A lot of us can't renew or extend their NP, because of the asylee status, RTDs are "noble" solution.

We are asylees today but we will be US citizens tomorrow :)
