i had my interview today and he asked me the fallowings.
last three years of tax returns
lease agreement, joint bank statement, car payments, health insuruance life insuruance dental ins..etc.and copy of my joint credit cards, phone bills.
which i had all of thme and she kept the copy of them.
finnaly she asked me to bring additional documents to proof bonofide marriage.
the documents she requested were:
our seperate bank acount transcripts not the joint one.
credit card statements.
rental agreement for my previous places that i lived with my wife.
and wanted me to mail to them in one month.
Now i have many issues to deal with
How possible for me to find the previoius owners of the properties which i have lived in.
we have credit cards but all the statements under my name eventhough my wife has the additional cards with her name on.I couldnt add her social to my account because she had very bad credit history in the past that woul ruin our credit.
please share your thoughts esspecialy BOBYSMITH AND FELIX LA

My mother who applied for citizenship based on marriage was in the EXACT same situation. She was able to track everything down and eventually was approved for citizenship. Just take your time and collect the documents. If you cannot find the exact document, try to find something close to it. Affidavits are the last resort, but don't forget about them.

I have no access to one of previos places owner. We couldnt get along that time.i dont think she will sign any affidavit for me.I am so concerned and even cried after I get out:(.I was over prepared for the documents.

You would sign a sworn statement yourself that you lived in a certain place at a certain time. Try to get copies of cancelled checks, whatnot... My mother dropped off her documents in early July and got a notice for an oath for October of last year. So about three months between the time she dropped off her documents (she was asked to appear in person) and the time she received the oath letter.

I really Appreciated for your response

Did anybody have similar experience? Please share your thoughts.
Where can I find an affidavit sample abouth where i have lived before.
thanks to everybody

What? Forge the signature?

No, I am talking about signing a sworn statement (I guess I should NOT have used the word affidavit) that you lived at a certain place, at a certain time. Sorry for the confusion. I would never suggest to forge anything. I have corrected my previous post to make this clear.

2003 is out of statuatory period

This is strange that she is asking you to get leases back from 2003. coz it is out of statutory period

Your N400 is based upon Marriage/3 year rule. All you need to provide, if at all, is 3 year old leases.

what is your DO?

Where did you apply for the citizenship. Were you married to US citizen?
In my case when we got married in 1999 my wife was a GC holder and she became citizen in 2002. I hope I won't have to prove too much.

farsez, was there anything in your history that would make them question the validity of your marriage?
there was nothing in the history that would create problem
otherwise i wouldnt receive my LPR status.
I think officer just wanted to be hard on me.I seen many people with a few documents had wery smoth interview
thanks

My guess is that you may have been targeted since applicants from your country may have a higher incidence of applications based on marriage fraud.

if it was marriage fraoud we would divorce after the LPR.I think it is just my luck.bobysmith the form she gave it says all documents must be original or certified. They asked my wife and my bank accounts which we never kept the originals we were going paperless on this account.
second they asked the credit card statments.in the interwiew i gave them copy of credit cards some of which we didnt receive any statment since there was not activity and we decided to not to use.
third they asked me previos rental agreement copies.I talked to previos owner where we were subleasing the room and share the house, she said she didint keep any agreement yet she can sign that we lived there.what would be the best language to write.Do you any format.would it be sufficent enough.i guess nobody keeps rental agreement that was 5 years ago.
thanks in advance

Nothing fancy is required. Just a simple sworn , dated and notarized lease affidavit signed by your previous landlord stating that you both lived there during the time in question.

I have question for you.
Did you send in document with application like utilities bill lease etc if yes then i am surprise why she did this.
Answer to this question is very important.
Why are you using "they" :confusedwas a one ofiicer or more than one?
thanks
