Thank you all who is reading it.

I just received my IL letter after wating for almost 2 yrs. Back in 1997 - I had
a bounc check in kroger and when I had received the letter from kroger - I went and paid but it was not cleared from kroger file and I got arrested for it.
Upon arrest - my wife went and got paid received from kroger and I was oout in 2/3 hrs. Krogrer applogied for it. When I have filed my N400 - I did
not mentioned it (I forgot). In my IL they did not ask any additional information required etc. If any information left in background which was 10 yrs back - I would not have cleared or may could have receive additional infromation reuire etc. Right?

But if I go for the interview - and IO ask me if I have ever been arrested. Should I tell him what happen or should I skip it. I am really confused now.
Waited for so long for the IL and now I am getting sad from my end.

I can get the letter from clark office even if anything left on my name.

Please suggest.

clear it from their file. I ended up in this mess. It was my mistake - I did grocery and paid college tution and ran short in bank.
 
It's better to mention it even if you don't have proof that you paid. I don't think it's a big deal. It also shows that you are forthright! In the worst case, it'll only delay the processing.

You MUST disclose all arrests in the interview, if they weren't already listed on the N-400. If they see an arrest in their system that you didn't mention, you can be denied for lying.

If IO ask me in the interview - I will say YES better to be honest and take the
chance.
 
You must disclose all details including your arrest, even tell the IO to update your N-400 about your arrest if you are not asked by IO. Otherwise, IO will find out eventually and you would be denied and deported.

Do you have proof that your case is cleared or court paperwork? If so, you should bring them with you to the interview.

Your case will be probably delayed. what made you to forget to mention your arrest in your N-400 before you submitted it? just curious.

With due respect, what kind of question is this? what made you to forget to mention your arrest in your N-400 before you submitted it? just curious....huh. . He may just have overlooked that specific question. I don't blame the poor guy and now when he went back to go over his N-400 application, he must have caught it. I am sure he must be going thru lot of stress on how to handle that question.

mfhoss, make sure you take everything in writing to support that question regarding arrest. Stay calm and relaxed coz you plan on being honest and open before the IO. Everything will be alright. Even if it delays your process, you will walk out with a peace of mind that you didn't lie and gave the officer all the answers to the best of your knowledge. Ofcourse the officer makes you raise your right hand and let you take the oath before going over your file so that's where the trust comes.

Yes - I was overlooked the N400 application specially that particuler questions.

When I have received the letter from krogrer - I went and paid. But after 2/3
months later cops came in my house and infromed me about the warrent. I told them - I have paid it aready. They told me you need to go with us and tell it in the court. So my wife went to krogrer and got paid off received. My wife also told the krogrer manager the situation and he applogied not for being informed to the county clark office that it has been paid off already. So I was in the police station (they did not put me in jail or anything) and came back after my wife showed them proof. But still I had to appear to court and just paid the court cost which if I remember $50 dollars or so. Judge asked me and I plead guilty and explanined him (but he was not listening) and paid the court cost. Thats's all.

I am thinking to get a letter from the district county clark office - and take it with me. Hope I get it on time. My interview is on first week of OCT.

I thank you all again - for taking time and reply me. You guy's response really
make lot of difference in a person life.

I will all let you know after my interview what happen.

You can always request to delay your interview if you don't get court documents in time. You don't want to go to interview without first knowing what you pleaded guilty to.

Anyone who have read my post and suggested - Thank you all.

I have requested district court, circuit court, and record acrhive - no one has any records on me - but I did mention it to IO when he asked me the questions - have you ever been arrested? He did write it down and thanked me for being honest though I did not marked in my N400 application YES. I did overlooked it and since it was a long back.

I will suggest - if you are honest - you will be rewarded.
